The role of the Venue Promo Team is to support the successful promotion and delivery of our wide programme of events at The Venue nightclub in. Postholders will act as ambassadors for The Venue, helping to increase awareness of its events, encourage student attendance and create a welcoming, engaging and enjoyable experience for customers.

The role combines event promotion, customer engagement, content creation and event coordination. Before events, postholders will promote The Venue’s programme both online and in person. This will include speaking to students across campus, distributing promotional materials and promoting our events through their own social media channels, friendship groups, societies, group chats and wider student networks.

During events, postholders will undertake a variety of front-of-house and operational duties. These may include preparing and distributing promotional content and giveaways, managing guest lists, supervising event equipment and looking after special guests, performers and artists.

Postholders will also be required to support our event marketing team by capturing and appearing in social media content. This may include interviews, TikToks, Reels and photos.

The purpose of the role is to create genuine connections between The Venue and the student community. Postholders will use their knowledge of student interests, trends and social networks to provide insight, generate excitement and help ensure The Venue’s marketing remains relevant and engaging.

Postholders will be expected to represent The Venue and Kent Students’ Union positively and professionally at all times. They must deliver accurate information, follow instructions from managers, maintain appropriate confidentiality and contribute to events that are safe, inclusive and welcoming to students from all backgrounds.
