37 days’ annual leave (including bank holidays and 6 days over Christmas and New Year)

Kent Students’ Union is looking for a Technical Operations Manager to lead the delivery of IT and technical services across our organisation.
This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of a fast-paced, student-led organisation, supporting everything from core IT infrastructure and digital platforms to large-scale events, venues and commercial outlets. The role combines leadership, technical expertise and operational delivery, ensuring our systems are reliable, secure and support an outstanding student experience.
You will lead the day-to-day operation of IT and Technical Services, managing staff, suppliers and systems across KSU and Kent Union Trading Ltd (KUTL). You’ll also oversee technical delivery for events and venues, including our in-house Kent Tech service.
We’re looking for someone who is proactive, solution-focused and comfortable working across a wide range of technologies and environments. You’ll bring strong technical knowledge, leadership experience and a passion for delivering high-quality services in a dynamic environment.
Role Purpose:
To lead and deliver the day-to-day operation of IT and Technical Services
To ensure reliable, secure, and effective delivery of systems and infrastructure
To manage staff, suppliers, and technical operations across the organisation
To oversee event technical delivery and commercial technical operations
