Intro for Jobshop - Portal Setting

Jobshop is an online employment service provided by Kent Students’ Union, we are here to support University of Kent students in Canterbury and Medway in finding part-time, temporary, and seasonal employment. We understand how important it is for students to have the opportunity to earn extra money while studying. Jobshop’s mission is to ensure that as many students as possible have access to opportunities which will help them build essential employability skills and gain work experience. This will enable them to create a strong CV and become successful candidates in a highly competitive graduate job market.

We have a pool of students employed on Jobshop temp contracts, enabling them to pick up ad-hoc work opportunities throughout the academic year.

Typical ad-hoc work assignments include helping with Congregation ceremonies, assisting as welcome helpers during arrivals weekend, working as tour guides, reception work, retail, and much more.
